A GaiaOnline Breedable/Changable Pet Shop

- As you might have noticed, we mention the website GaiaOnline a few times, as well as things like 'Role-Play' and 'In Character'. These are terms used for various things, and while we won't explain them all, in this small guide we'll try to help you understand where the minisite originates from and how it works in relation to This is Halloween.

- This is Halloween is a Breedable/Changable shop that is in the forums of GaiaOnline. It focuses on Role-Playing characters, namely student creatures such as monsters, demons or ghosts, in a fictional offshoot of The Nightmare Before Christmas's Halloweentown. Anyone can join in, but like all sites and forums and shops, there are a different set of rules and tone set by the community.

- If you want to join us on Gaia online, it is free, but we HIGHLY recommend you do not just 'jump in!' Please Read the B/C Newbie Guide and the B/C Rules sticky! It will also help you to lurk around to understand the tone of the community! It's a lot of reading, we know, but we ask this as the Gaia shop is very different than the minisite!

- If you do join, the B/C forum, and our shop, places A LOT of emphasis of manners; Grabby hands at pets, demands to know why you have not gotten a pet, hinting, general whining- these are fast ways to get people annoyed with you! Please do not do it! Be polite, read as much as you can, and understand that etiquette plays a very heavy role in not just our shop, but all B/C shops. As a general rule of thumb, if someone can take it as rude? Don't do it/say it.

- The minisite was born of the admins wanting a fun addition to the gaia shop, and all staff onsite, admins included, are 'volunteers'. No staff, not even admins, take a real life pay for their work. All RL money from site fundraisers goes to the site. GMs, Coders, Artists, all work as they can for free. We mention this as-

- We are a team that works on the site as it something we enjoy doing in addition to the gaiaonline shop. Many of the minisite staff have jobs as GMs for the gaiashop. Our priority will always be our role-players as they are the core of our shop. We do not neglect the minisite, but the minisite is an addition, a non required addition, to our gaia shop. Please understand that while role-play intensive events are going on on gaiaonline, the minisite might slow down just a bit. We try however to plan ahead so the site will get small things of their own.

- Please realize that although this site is connected to an on-gaia established role-playing community, you do not require a character to join the festivities. We only request that you do not attempt to join the community for the sole reason of trying to collect pets or free art from the community. Locals of the community do not appreciate being interrupted by non-roleplaying members for the sake of minipets, and are mostly in the thread for role-playing or trying to earn or win a role-playing character. Roleplaying is a time commitment and investment, and for many of our players, it's the main part of this game. Nearly all art that is done is for free-and is intended to go towards those who want to RP inour community. To our Gaia players, minipets are an extra or side bonus. The focus there is on storytelling. Events that involve minipets are our way of saying "thank you" to the roleplayers for their dedication and the time they spend playing in our game.

- You will NOT need to join GaiaOnline in order to play the minisite, just as our gaia players do not have to make a minipet account. Never feel pressured that in order to get things you'll need a Gaia account.
